    Enterprise Business Development - Grant Financing Opportunities

     

    The Climate Smarty Agriculture & Rural Enterprise Development Programme (SAEP) is funded by the Government of Grenada through financing from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB).

    Additionally, contributions are also provided by the Grenada Investment Development Corporation (GIDC) and the beneficiaries.

    ENTERPRISE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ( EBD):

    The EBD seeks to support start-up enterprises in rural areas through capacity building, technical support services and financing.

    WHO CAN BENEFIT?

    • Young people (ages 16-35) unemployed & underemployed men and women;
    • Entrepreneurs/ Micro enterprises ( startups and existing rural businesses).

    OPPORTUNITIES:

    1. Start-ups-Entrepreneurial Training

    Beneficiaries (Young people) who are aspiring to start a business or currently operating a business for less than 3 years will receive training in the following areas:

    A. Remedial Education:

    1. Remedial English
    2. Life Skills
    3. Remedial Math
    4. Information, Communications Technology

    B. Entrepreneurial Skills Development

    C. Grant Proposal Writing

     

    2. Existing Businesses - Business Skills Training

    Beneficiaries who are registered business owners operating for over 3 years will receive training in the following areas:

    • Business Plan Development
    • Record Keeping
    • Marketing
    • Costing & Pricing

    3. Grant Financing

    Young people who complete the remedial education, entrepreneurial skills development and grant proposal writing can access grant financing as follows:

    1.First Push Grant

    A maximum of EC$2,688 for individuals and a maximum of EC$6,720 for groups. A 5% in-kind contribution is required.

    2.Business Grant

    A maximum of EC$25,000 for individuals and a maximum of EC$80,646 for groups. A 5% in-kind contribution and 5% cash contribution is required.

    REQUIREMENTS FOR START-UPS

    All Beneficiaries MUST:

    1. Register with EBD and undergo the interview process along with literacy and numeracy tests.

    2. Complete 100% attendance in remedial education, entrepreneurial skills development and grant proposal writing.

    3.Complete a proposal & business plan to access grant financing.

    REQUIREMENTS FOR EXISTING BUSINESS OWNERS

    All Beneficiaries MUST:

    1. Register to participate in the Program.

    2. Have a legally registered business

    3. Be in operation for over 3 years

    4. Participate in the handholding and technical assistance program
