Businesses & Consumers in Grenada are being invited to enter nominations to the Grenada Chamber of Industry & Commerce Business Awards 2010
There are many reasons for taking part in the Nomination Process. As a business you may be looking for the recognition that your business deserves, or just to celebrate the success of your business. As a consumer you may want to show appreciation or recognition to a business that, in your opinion has performed well. Nominations are being invited in the following categories:-
Ø Green Award
Ø Service Excellence
Ø Business of the Year
Ø Exporter of the Year
Ø Small Business of the Year
Ø Manufacturer of the Year
Ø Corporate Social Responsibility
Criteria for Categories
Green Award
The business must display eco-friendly business practices, have new products or services that are eco-friendly
Service Excellence
The company's primary line of business is providing a service. This category includes professionals.
Corporate Social Responsibility
Companies must demonstrate corporate social responsibility in its day to day operations. The every day practices of businesses in assisting not-for-profit local community organisations, particularly their mentoring assistance and provision of staff time to the development of Grenada’s Society.
Exporter of the Year
This award will recognizes an exporter who has excelled in Regional and International exportation and made a significant contribution to the development of the Grenadian economy.
Manufacturer of the Year
At least 60% of the company's revenues come from manufacturing activities. Also includes companies that are engaged in secondary manufacturing, AGRI processing, production of value-added components, machinery and/or equipment for industrial uses.
Small Business of the Year
The company has a maximum of nine employees. The company can work in any sector.
Has an established and viable business located in the Grenada. (Business must be at least two years old). Show growth in employees and/or sales volume in addition to its response to adversity and Community Service.
Young Entrepreneur of the Year
The candidate must be a proprietor of a company, they should be under 35 years of age, with a good reputation and an inspiring and sustainable business that makes an impact to the market or society at large.
Business of the Year
Businesses must have made a positive impact within their trade or industry.
Must have a reputation for providing a superior level of customer service and support the community in some capacity.
Business Women of the Year
The candidate must be active in a profitable registered business. She must be the founder of the business or have had a significant impact on the company if acquired. The nominee must hold the senior executive title and/or be the chief decision maker. She must be responsible for the day-to-day management and the financial bottom line of the company.
All nominated companies are evaluated based on the following criteria.

· Environmental Leadership
· Sales / Market Growth
RULES AND ELIGIBILITY
· You may enter a company in a maximum of two categories
· Nominee must be members of the Grenada Chamber of Industry of Commerce
· Nominee’s must be of good name and character and must not have engaged, directly or indirectly in any conduct which in the opinion of the GCIC Business Awards Committee might discredit the Awards Ceremony
· Entries must be received by Wednesday 17th November 2010.
· All finalists must agree to attend the awards presentation on Friday 26th November 2010
· All finalists must be prepared for a visit from the Nomination Committee, if deemed necessary.
· The Nomination Committee’s decision is final.
· Winners will be announced at the awards ceremony.
· Award winners may state in advertising/promotional activity and on their stationery that they are winners of a GCIC Award but this must include the category and the year in which the award was won.
