SUBJECT:      THE GCIC GOVERNMENT SERVICES COMMITTEE
DATE:            FRIDAY 24TH AUGUST, 2007

I am pleased to inform you that the GCIC Services Committee has been re constituted and has commenced its work.  The members of the Committee are the following:

Mr. Justin Evans                    Chairman
Mr. Davidson Nedd
Mr. Valentino Sawney
Ms. Isabelle Slinger
Mr. Christopher David 

The Committee’s main objectives are to work with the Public Sector to raise efficiency levels in Public Sector service areas that are critical to the performance of the Private Sector. 

At the first meeting of the Committee held on Tuesday 21st August, the following areas were identified as priorities: 

         ◊  Immigration
         ◊   Law Enforcement
         ◊  Traffic
         ◊   Licensing of Drivers
         ◊   Duties
         ◊   Physical Planning

The Committee is seeking to develop an Advocacy Plan around these and other matters.  In this regard you are asked to submit issues you wish to see taken up.  You are also encouraged to put forward proposals to solve problems you may identify.
